Gravity Rush 2‘s director Keiichiro Toyama and Sony Interactive Entertainment PR Yasuhiro Kitao were recently invited to a live stream celebrating the launch of Nier: Automata. Its producer Yosuke Saito and its director Yoko Taro were present as well. Seemingly on the spot, both parties agreed to have a collaboration between Nier: Automata and Gravity Rush 2. As a result, Kat will be getting a DLC costume based on the one worn by Nier: Automata‘s main character 2B. No other details are known at the moment. You can see the stream below (the collaboration is announced at around 9:55).
Koyorin, an artist who is well known for creating Gravity Rush and Nier fanart, had previously created a crossover artwork with Kat and 2B wearing each other’s outfits. It’s interesting to see one part of that artwork become a reality now. Previously, SEGA’s Phantasy Star Online 2 also received a collaboration with both Gravity Rush 2 and Nier: Automata, where Kat received the “Crazy Kitten” costume from PSO2.
i felt like drawing this outfit swap of Kat and 2B for some reason since i'm so excited for both #GravityRush2 and #NieRAutomata!! #ニーアオートマタ pic.twitter.com/VjzMVq4To8
