It’s been exactly one year since I made my first post on Gravity Rush Central’s website! Back then I didn’t imagine spending this much time on the project, but I’m really glad I did. Seeing Gravity Rush fans rally behind the #DontForgetGravityRush campaign was the highlight of the past 12 months, and it proved exactly what I wrote in my first post: even though Gravity Rush remained a niche franchise, it still has a very loyal fanbase. The Gravity Rush franchise may not be one of Sony’s most popular PlayStation franchised, but it’s a special one that won’t be forgotten. And success is all relative. Even now as sales of the game have slowed down, we still see hundreds of new players play the game for the first time every day. And every day, thousands of people still play one of the game’s Challenge Missions. There’s never a moment where someone in the world isn’t playing Gravity Rush 2 or Gravity Rush Remastered.
It’s not clear what the future holds for the Gravity Rush franchise, but it’s safe to say that we won’t be seeing another sequel anytime soon, as Team Gravity is hard at work on a different game now. But I hope Gravity Rush Central can contribute to keeping the franchise relevant. There are still plenty of articles I’ve yet to write about the Gravity Rush games, and I’m looking into adding articles from other people as well. To conclude, I’d like to thank everyone who followed Gravity Rush Central over the past 12 months, and I hope you’ll continue doing so in the future!
